Purpose: Bring scientists, resource managers and syrup producers together to identify knowledge and research needs relating to the impacts of climate change on sugar maple (Acer saccharum) and maple syrup.
Attendance: Limited to 25 in-person registered participants.
Agenda for December 7th:
- 8:30 – Arrival at Northeast Climate Science Center; coffee and pastries
- 9:00 – Introduction to the NE CSC and ACERnet researchers
- 9:30 – Presentation on existing maple and climate change research
- 9:45 – Maple sugaring community needs assessment (guided discussion)
- 10:45 – Break
- 11:00 – ACERnet research overview and panel discussion
- 12:15 – Wrap up
- 12:30 – Lunch
